So, I finally started to actually animate today. Without actually having the dialog recorded, it's hard to start figuring out the action of the characters to go along with the voices, but I've started work on scenes and parts that have no dialog, which is nice.
I completely forgot to post some of my pre-production stuff on my last blog post, so here it is this time:
I've also started on some 3D side work. I modeled the environment for
Bronx Pigeons in 3D. If I feel like it's nice enough to actually use for the background, I may fully light the scene and do more work to it, but right now, it's mostly just for camera angles.
I also started working on this side idea, just to be doing something while I've been tweaking the script and already working in Maya. I modeled a Football and Football Helmet in Maya and started doing some character movement stuff with it. I imported the objects into a scene with the rig we've been using since Character Movement and I started working on some football movements. The plan right now is to have three "done" by the end of the semester: A Quarterback drop back and throw; A Wide Receiver coming off the line of scrimmage, breaking from his defender, running his route, and catching a thrown ball; and an additional one which I'm not 100% decided on yet (Something maybe involving a Kicker or Running back).
And just for the fuck of it, if any one is actually looking at this blog: The title of the blog comes from an artist I've been following since 2005.
Jonny Craig - The Lives We Live
I've seen him in concert three times, met him each time, couldn't be cooler. Then he got into drugs. Hard. Went to rehab. Came out, and is back to being awesome. His new stuff in much more R&B-y, but it's still great.
